Server-side tracking with Google Tag Manager, on your own domain.
Instead of loading every vendor script in the visitor's browser, your site sends one stream to a tagging server you control, which forwards clean data to analytics and ad platforms.
The problem with tags that all run in the browser
A typical site loads many third-party scripts: analytics, two or three ad pixels, a chat widget. Each one slows the page, each can be blocked, and each sets its own cookies under rules the browser increasingly limits. Safari, for example, restricts how long cookies written by JavaScript can live.
Server-side tagging moves that work to a server. Your site sends events to your own subdomain, and the server decides what to forward to GA4, Meta, Google Ads and others. You get fewer scripts on the page, more control over what leaves your site and first-party cookies set by your own domain.
What we build
Tagging server on your domain
A server-side GTM container running on a subdomain of your site, hosted on infrastructure you own, such as a small server or a cloud service.
A cleaner web container
The browser container is trimmed to send events to your server instead of loading each vendor script.
GA4 and ad platforms
GA4, Meta Conversions API and Google Ads tags configured on the server, with deduplication and consistent event names.
Consent built in
Consent Mode and your consent banner decide which data is forwarded. The server enforces the choice, it does not bypass it.
Monitoring
We watch the server and the event flow, so a broken tag shows up as an alert and not as a gap in your reports weeks later.
How it works
Audit
We map the tags and cookies on your site today, and what each one is for.
Stand up the server
We create the tagging server and connect it to your domain over HTTPS.
Migrate tag by tag
We move each tag over and check its numbers against the old setup before turning the old one off.
Document and hand over
You get a short map of what sends what, and how to add a tag safely.
Questions
Is it worth it for a small site?
If you do not run ads, probably not yet. If you spend meaningfully on ads and rely on conversion data, it is worth an audit.
What does the server cost?
A tagging server has a hosting cost that grows with traffic. For most small and mid-size sites it is modest, and we give an estimate before building.
Does it replace the consent banner?
No. You still need a consent banner. Server-side tagging changes where tags run, not whether a visitor agreed.
Will my reports change?
Some numbers will move, usually up, because fewer events are lost. We compare old and new side by side so the change is explained.
